What to see in Aigualluts
The route reaches the viewpoint over the forau, continues near the waterfall and opens onto Plan de Aigualluts, a broad glacial meadow surrounded by mountains.
The karst phenomenon
Part of the water coming from the Aneto and Maladeta area disappears into the natural sinkhole and later resurfaces on the Aran side, which makes the route more than a scenic walk.
Usual itinerary
The walk can be started from Vado del Hospital or shortened from La Besurta when access is available. From there, take the left-hand path after the Renclusa junction towards the forau viewpoint.
Waterfall and Plan de Aigualluts
After the viewpoint, the path passes the waterfall and continues to the wide meadow of Plan de Aigualluts, with the Aneto and Maladeta massif as the main backdrop.
Access and season
The usual access is linked to La Besurta and Llanos del Hospital, with regulations or shuttle transport in some periods. Check current access before setting off.
Who it suits
It is a strong first taste of Benasque high mountain scenery when the route version matches the group and weather, footwear, water and warm layers are planned.
